Burnt Ice
Chapter 9
After I had finished giving Magia her dinner, I sucked in a deep breath and entered the room where everybody was to find a red faced Leo. Raph was obviously trying to recover from his embarrassment at the remark made earlier. As I, myself, was trying to bite down my own, as well as my laughter. Everyone else was trying to control their laughter and in doing so began coughing. The man I presumed to be Casey remarked in his Brooklyn accent, “Yo, the only three people in this here room that ain’t laughin’ with us is the nerdo and the love birds!”
I chuckled to myself, then in a faint act of revenge, I picked up a ball that had casually been laid there and with minute accuracy, I tossed it, hoping it would find its mark. It did, Casey’s head.
“Ha Ha let me try,” laughed a strangely playful Raph. He picked up a pillow lying nearby, and threw it in the same direction I had.
“My turn!” called Leonardo. As he reached to pick up an unknown object, he paused and looked my direction, suddenly remembering, “HEY! You gave me that nickname!” Sensing the danger that he was going to throw something at me, I ducked my head inside my shell. I felt the wind of the UFO as it whooshed over my body, I heard, as it bounced off the wall behind me, a cry of surprise. I then heard the indistinguishable voice of Splinter, “What is the meaning of this?!?”
“Master Splinter! Gee you’re home from your chess match early!” Leo cried in surprise.
“It was beginning to rain.” Splinter explained calmly, “Now, what is the meaning of these senseless acts?”
Leo paused to think, and then gestured toward me, "She call me LEONERDO!” The whole room burst up in laughter except ‘Nerdo’, Splinter and me, but any second I too would burst out.
“First of all, you are an adult, you should be offended by such petty remarks!” Splinter said as he shook his cane at Leo, “Second, you are a father, what would Andrea say?” The threw me totally off guard, ‘Huh?’ I thought ‘Father?!? No way!’
“Did some one say my name?” an English, female vioce from up the ladder asked, the whole room grew silent as they watched the owner of the vioce descend down to the floor.
“Andrea! Andy!” Leo cried in utmost excitement, ran toward the newcomer with arms open.
“Hi Honey!” Andrea replied happily with a kiss.
‘Oh brother,’ I thought ‘Talk about nerdo!’ I admit that was a bit rude, being that I have never met this girl before, as far as I could know, she might be the coolest one of the bunch. Andrea was a mutant turtle as well, yet, she was very different, no I’m not talking about her accent, I’m talking about her hair, she had HAIR!
